On Sunday, January 17th, 2010 in a suburb of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the team of Axel Hache and David Shulman set a brand-new Guinness World Record:
"For the fastest radio controlled, conventionally configured, turbine model aircraft in the world.”
According to David their goal was to fly faster than 290-305mph and they certainly exceeded that! The end results came to an average speed of 337 mph (up- and downwind). The maximum speed achieved was 345.23 mph (downwind)".

Aircraft: Jet Model Products Firebird.
Turbine: AMT Netherlands Olympus HP.
Measurement Equipment: Eagle Tree System, GPS and Stalker-2 radar gun.

Venue: The HobbyLand Flying Field located at a 20-minute driving distance from the city of Santo Domingo in the Grupo Alonzo’s site. Among the HobbyLand’s amenities: a fully asphalt runway measuring 300 x 12 meters, a platform for taxiways and fly-boxes, a helipad facility, 2 covered hangars with over 200 sq. meters of open space and a 2-story clubhouse.
Carribean Fly-In 2010
Pilots from the United States, United Kingdom, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Chile, among other countries, will participate at this field in the Second Annual Radio Controlled Aircraft Cup to be held on the 29th, 30th, and
