PRESIDENT’S OPENING REMARKS
Jeff Solomon opened with a reminder that we are waiting for Ralph Loria to approve the assistance that we will be getting from the Town of Clarkstown in connection with the field modifications.
Details of the field modifications and layout were discussed. The relative positions of the heli’s and fixed wing aircraft was also discussed.
More discussion will be held in connection with the frequency issues (see below) including the possibility of using odd-even frequencies between heli’s and fixed wing.
Jeff mentioned that we should employ the AMA “TAG” program to attract more young members, especially those from Clarkstown.
Other public relations programs should include a static show in the Nanuet Mall, and possible after school programs in the grammar schools.

SAFETY OFFICER’S REPORT
Bob Greenberg reminded the membership that the field is the most important asset the club has, and we must do what ever is required to preserve it.
He stated that props have flown off of aircraft upon two separate occasions. Fliers must be more careful about checking the prop nuts, and must always face aircraft away from pit and seating areas.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Membership - None. Subsequent note: Provisional Member Mike Maresca has volunteered to take over the duties of Membership Committee Chair. THANK YOU MIKE.
RFI Committee - Dan Dispenza – Has assembled a Technical Radio Interference Committee. He as been in touch with Dave Mathewson and Dan Williams from District II, and Steve Kaluf, Technical Director of the AMA for assistance. Subsequent note: an e-mail has been distributed to the membership to survey the frequencies that are in use. All members are encouraged to respond immediately.
Four members have been monitoring all channels in the 72 MHz range. There is an electrical substation near the north west corner of the field. He does not think this is a problem. 72.320 MHz pager systems that exist between channels 26 and 27 could be a problem. They may spill into our frequencies, so these two frequencies may have to be eliminated. Dan will contact the FCC to get names of users in this area. After he does so, he will announce which frequencies must be avoided.
Dan reminded members to only use only narrow band equipment, and nothing older than 1999. AM bands should also be avoided. Dan indicated that the new “Spectrum Seven” equipment is the wave of the future, and will solve these kinds of problems, as it is “interference free”..
Web page - Joe Guzzo is now the web-master. Joe stated that he wants to start a veterans’ page.
He will no longer be handling the membership duties (see note above). He is working on completing the channel list, and needs to wrap it up. Members must submit their channel numbers immediately.
Pilot Qualifications - None
Good and Welfare - None
