PRESIDENT’S OPENING REMARKS
Jeff Solomon stated that we should prepare a list of detailed safety and conduct rules to be handed out to new Provisional Members. The current package does not address many of the important issues. We must also compare what is printed in the current handout to what is shown on the web site. Stephen Carrozza agreed to look for the detailed list that has already been prepared, and to provide the updated information to Mike Maresca.
Bob Greenberg stated that the new members should be required to sign the document to assure that they have read it. He also stated that all members should take responsibility for advising flyers of any violations.
MINUTES
Stephen Carrozza read the minutes of the February 27, 2007 Masters Night meeting into the record.
VICE-PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Al Betancourt stated that our Clarkstown Member ratio is close to the 60% required. We will not be turning away new members from other areas, but we are making a concerted effort to increase the Clarkstown Patron membership, and now have a person in charge of that effort.
Al also mentioned that we will be adding a number of officer positions to the board of directors to handle some of the growing tasks. Harvey Landis reminded the membership that the proper procedure must be followed when doing so which will include amendments to the By-laws. Al agreed. The issue will be properly noticed and brought to the membership for a vote.
Al also congratulated Joe Guzzo for doing such a fine job on the website since he took it over from Steve Lew. All agreed.
TREASURER’S REPORT
No formal report was available, however Jeff Solomon outlined the budget for 2007. He provided a categorical breakdown, concluded that the club’s estimated income for 2007 will be approximately $12,000, and the expenses with all of the field modifications will be approximately $6,800.
SAFETY OFFICER’S REPORT
Bob Greenberg spoke about the importance of checking ALL of ones equipment. He lost a plane because of a break in his antenna wire due to fatigue. He also reminded the membership that flyers should not taxi into the pit area, and that they should always start their aircraft facing away from the pit.
FLIGHT LEADER REPORT
Jim Nelson stated that it has been a very short winter, but we got in a few snow flys at Sterling. The Clarkstown field is still wet and a bit squishy, but the flying conditions are good, so come on out.

OLD BUSINESS
The new Runway:
Jeff stated that we need to make adjustments to the positions of the tents to create more room for the pit and flight line. We also need to make the field look good so our Patrons will be proud to have us there. The field design must portray a professional image. Bob White is in charge of the field development, and will be making those changes.
Bob White stated that he will need a large number of volunteers for a few weekends to make all of the changes. For the new fixed wing runway we will need people to build forms, pour concrete, build sheds, rake, grade, remove rocks, and build tables. For the heli side it will be a very simple layout, but a true development. The finishing touches will include edging and landscape items. The result will be a beautiful, yet easy to maintain field. There will be a total of six tents.
The first date for performing the work will be Saturday, March 24, 2007.
Jeff asked for five volunteers to make phone calls to remind the members who are not present to help out.
Jeff also reminded the membership that, although there are now two flight lines, every member has the same rights to a safe and controlled flying field, and the same responsibilities for observing the safety and frequency monitoring rules. A house divided cannot stand. Frequency conflicts are not common, and can be eliminated if everyone takes responsibility. He finally stated that violators who are found to have caused the loss of an aircraft will be held responsible by the Board for the cost.
NEW BUSINESS
Harvey Landis mentioned that we need to get started on organizing the May fun fly.
ADJOURNMENT
