FLIGHT LEADER REPORT
Jim Nelson stated that the June 2nd Float Fly was very successful; approximately ten flyers showed up.

Jim announced that the two upcoming Fun Fly’s at the Clarkstown field will be held on July 29th , and August 26th . He encouraged the heli flyers to participate in the events. He also stated that the Electric Fun Fly has been cancelled for this year due to the late date and the condition of the field.

A new instructor list will be posted. Jim also asked for volunteers to act as Flight deputies at each of the two flying areas. He will be looking for responsible members who are willing and able to take charge.

SAFETY OFFICER’S REPORT
Bob Greenberg reminded all heli flyers to leave their phone numbers at the frequency board when flying. Most members have been doing this by putting their phone numbers on the back of their I.D. cards.

Bob also stated that flying at the heli pad should be conducted in the east, south and west directions, not in the north facing direction.

Bob stated that all instructors shall stand next to the student when giving instructions, and when using a buddy box. They must not be sitting during instruction.

Frank Mollo stated that all flyers must check their batteries upon arrival at the field. This is a minimum requirement, and should be done prior to each flight.

Field maintenance - Dick Eimert stated that the new tractor has made some problems for the committee, but these seem to have been solved. They now have much more cutting to do, so the cutting takes longer. Dick asked that members do not fly during cutting operations. Frank Mollo added that additional refinements to the field design to make it look neat and park-like so it can once again be a showpiece for our relations with the Town.

Public Relations - Al Betancourt stated that he will be soon speaking to Mr. Loria regarding the continuing improvements at the field. We are continuing to keep a cemented relationship with the Town. We will also be planning an event at the Pascack Center similar to the one we had two years ago to help advance our standing with the Town. It will be held some time in January. The exact date will be announced. Al also stated that we will begin planning for next year’s open house (the electric Fun Fly) in November of this year. A committee will be assembled at that time. Al reminded the membership that members who show up at the field during work details must pitch in and so some work before they do any flying. In answer to a question from the floor, Al stated that we will be soliciting to residents of the town for real and interested members.
Frank mentioned that the newsletter was mailed to people in the past to advance this effort. Many agreed that lines of communication must be maintained with the Clarkstown residents.

refinements to the By-laws. These will be forthcoming in the next few months.
