Minutes of the July 10, 2007 Meeting
The meeting commenced at 8:10pm at the Zukor Administration Building
Frank Mollo, President presided. There was a pledge to the Flag
GUESTS
There were three guests:
1. Ron Cobbs – A Clarkstown resident who is interested in all types of radio
controlled models
2. Barry Yarkon – A beginner who is interested in model aircraft
3. Lisa Landis – An electrical engineer who is also the younger sister of our
own Danny Landis, and is a beginner.
PRESIDENT’S OPENING REMARKS
Frank Mollo requested that someone volunteer to chair the Programs Committee.
MINUTES
Stephen Carrozza read the minutes from the 6-26-07 meeting into the record. The
minutes were accepted as written.
VICE-PRESIDENT’S REPORT
None
TREASURER’S REPORT
None
FLIGHT LEADER REPORT
Jim Nelson had no report, but announced that there will be an AMA District I
sponsored fun fly on Saturday, July 29, 2007 at the W.F.C. field in Bloomfield,
CT. This will be posted on the web site.
SAFETY OFFICER’S REPORT
Bob Greenberg reminded all Members to drive slowly on the access road to the top
of the landfill to reduce dust.
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER REPORT
Joe Guzzo reminded the Members to check their e-mails and the web site regarding
coyotes at the Clarkstown field, and bears at the Sterling field. He also
reminded everyone present about the upcoming work day on Saturday, July 14.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Pilot Qualifications - None. Frank stated that Doug Nasto is at a funeral
tonight.
By-Laws - Tom Rotella was not present. Stephen Carrozza summarized the changes
that
are being developed. These include a re-definition of the newsletter in concert
with reworking of the notification procedures. There will also be some
refinements in the Provisional Member requirements, acceptance procedures,
committee names, officer duties, and more. These will be forthcoming in the next
few months.
Bob Wetstein asked if we could include an upper limit on the Provisional period.
Carrozza stated that this is a good idea and that it will be considered for
inclusion.

Membership - None – Mike Maresca was not present.
Steve Carrozza stated that four Provisional Members have been interviewed from
the current list, and an other was to be interviewed after the meeting. To
remain consistent with our new procedures, and to allow for proper deliberation,
the vote for these members to achieve Active status will be held at the next
meeting.
Two of these members, Darren Keys and Suwannawisut stated that they wanted to
drop off of the list and get their money back. Frank Mollo agreed to oblige them
and stated that the Board would consider returning their initiation fees.
RFI Committee - Dan Dispenza stated that he is compiling a database on
the new Spectrum systems, and requested the names of all Members who use them.
He also requested that each user report the manufacturer and aircraft
information, and provide some commentary on the systems.
Good and Welfare - None
Field maintenance - None
Public Relations - Al Betancourt stated that we will begin planning the
event at the Pascack Center similar to the one we had two years ago to help
advance our standing with the Town. It will be held on either January 12th or
the 26th. Al requested four volunteers for the committee. Four members came
forward.

The next meeting will be held on August 14, 2007. There will be only
one meeting in August.
A Motion was made at 8:49 pm to adjourn by Carmine, it was seconded by George
Westphal, all agreed.
