Minutes of the September 11, 2007 Meeting


The meeting commenced at 8:00 pm at the Zukor Administration Building

Frank Mollo, President presided. There was a pledge to the Flag


GUESTS
There were two guests: Dennis Hogarth and his son from Old Tappan


PRESIDENT’S OPENING REMARKS

Frank Mollo stated that the field has greatly improved and that it is now in very good condition. He also stated that all guests at the field must sign the release form which shall be turned over to the membership committee. A member who brings guests shall make sure the guest is aware of the rules. The guest can fly only two times, and then he must apply for membership.

MINUTES

Stephen Carrozza read the minutes from the 8-14-07 meeting into the record. The minutes were accepted as written.

SAFETY OFFICER’S REPORT

Bob Greenberg stated that some fixed wing pilots are still flying too far over the heli area, and insisted that they improve their distance judgment. We will start suspending fliers who do not comply. Also, fliers must keep track of their guests who should not be present without an accompanying member.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER REPORT
Joe Guzzo reminded the members to check out the new page under links: Aircraft Museums and Web Sites. There is also a page honoring the 9-11 victims.

TREASURER’S REPORT

None; Oliver was not present.

VICE-PRESIDENT’S REPORT
None; Al Betancourt was not present.

FLIGHT LEADER REPORT
Jim Nelson was not present. Frank reminded members about the Sterling 2:00 to dusk on Wednesdays, and the Fun Fly at Congers on Sept.23. Regular Congers flying is still on Monday through Friday 10:00 – 3:00.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Program - Dan Dispenza stated that we will be having a slide show presentation at the
September 25 meeting.
 

Pilot Qualifications - None

By-Laws
- Tom Rotella and Steve Carrozza read the substantive changes that are being
Proposed. After the reading, there was some discussion and questions. The revisions are to be mailed to all active members and will be posted on the web site. Members are encouraged to read these and formulate questions or comments for discussion at the October meeting. Any immediate questions can be posed to Tom Rotella via e-mail. A vote will be held at the October 9, 2007 meeting.
 

Membership - Mike Maresca stated that Bruce Leach and Bill Krauss are ready to be voted upon. The Board made the recommendation that these Provisionals be voted in as full members. The motion was seconded by Mike Maresca. The two Provisional members were asked to leave the room. The membership voted, and both men were overwhelmingly approved for membership by open vote.
 

RFI Committee - None.
 

Good and Welfare - None.
 

Field maintenance - Dick Eimert stated that there is not a lot of grass to be cut.
 

Public Relations - None; Al Betancourt was not present

OLD BUSINESS
1. Rich Landis’ motion to move the heli flyers back to the old runway was again tabled until the issue can be more empirically analyzed.

NEW BUSINESS
1. Two members have petitioned the Board to be placed on Inactive Status. These are:
Claude Bennett and Ivo Almuli
A motion was made by Frank Mollo, and seconded by Carrozza. The membership approved the motion unanimously by open vote. Stephen Carrozza will notify these members of their new status.
2. The Christmas Party is being scheduled at the Casa Mia Manor for Saturday, December 15, 2007.
3. Frank will be placing an order for new RCRCC Jackets.

Mel Chernin won the 50/50.

The next meeting will be held on Sept. 25, 2007. The next business meeting will be on October 9, 2007.

A Motion was made at 9:25 pm to adjourn, it was seconded, all agreed.
