ALL MEMBERS ARE EMPOWERED TO STOP ANYONE FROM OPERATING OR FLYING THEIR AIRCRAFT WHEN:
| 1. | THERE IS A NON SAFE CONDITION. This may include, but is not limited to, plane or radio not airworthy, pilot is beyond his ability to safely control his aircraft, pilot is not an AMA member, guest has not signed release form, smoking outside of member's car, behavior that endangers others. USE YOUR DISCRETION. |
| 2. | THE PLANE IS OUTSIDE THE APPROVED FLIGHT AREA |
| 3. | THE ENGINE EXCEEDS THE ACCEPTABLE SOUND LEVEL. USE YOUR DISCRETION. TALK IT OVER WITH THE PILOT. GET THE OPINION OF OTHERS. |
ANYONE REFUSING TO STOP A NON SAFE PRACTICE AFTER BEING TOLD WILL RECEIVE DISCIPLINARY ACTION, UP TO AND INCLUDING LOSS OF MEMBERSHIP.
SITE & SAFETY RULES ADOPTED AUGUST 12, 2003
DO NOT FLY ALONE!
1) Do not fly alone! Second person must be able to drive and provide assistance in case of emergency.
2) No flying prior to 9AM any day of the week.
3) All transmitters must be equipped with frequency flags.
4) Transmitters shall not be turned on before the flyer has
ascertained that the frequency he is planning to use is NOT in use and he has
placed his AMA membership card or photo copy on the proper frequency number on
the central board.
5) The maximum number of aircraft allowed to fly at the same
time shall not exceed four.
6) Restarts of aircraft engines on runways or taxi strips are
limited to one attempt with a portable glow plug driver. Otherwise, aircraft
shall be immediately returned to the pit.
7) All take offs and landings must be made in the same
direction according to the prevailing wind. Take offs down the taxiways directly
away from the pit area are permitted when wind conditions permit. The sole
purpose of this exception is to maintain landing strip clear of aircraft taking
off as much as possible in order to facilitate the landing of aircraft priority.
8) No flying over pit area or parking and spectator areas.
**NOTE: Flying shall be from the EAST PILOT LINE in the morning and from the
WEST PILOT LINE in the evening, in order to keep the sun at the pilot’s back.
9) All shall have effective mufflers and meet RCRCC db level
requirements. Engine break-in or running of engines at the field for long
periods of time is prohibited.
10) All aircraft shall be inspected for airworthiness prior
to its first flight by the club Safety Officer or Flight Leader. Aircraft not
certified to fly shall not be allowed to fly until safe to fly.
11) Members not flying shall keep members flying informed of
any condition that they observe on the ground and in the air that could affect
members or spectators safety.
12) The rules listed above do not supersede or exempt members
from the safety regulations of AMA or IMAA.
