The Mountain View Driving Park, Orangeburg, NY ca. 1960

Known in its heyday as The Mountain View Driving Park in Orangeburg, this half mile track was in operation from the early 1890's until the late 30's. The site was also used for the Rockland County Fair around the same time. At the lower left is the Bells Company, maker of the once popular Bell-Ans medicine, and the road on the left is Route 303.  The land where the track is now a corporate park with two large warehouses on it, but the Bells Company building is still there along with several of the older homes. In this photo you are facing North and the track was located on the east side of Rt. 303 about an 1/8 of a mile north of Orangeburg Road.
